November was yet another busy month for the ACP Decisions Team.  We released new video content and continued our work on our tech infrastructure.  We've also published a couple of blogs as well.

Families can be a source of support for many people, but they can also be a source of stress. Understanding the essential role families play in advance care planning (ACP) can help clinicians and providers navigate family dynamics to facilitate the process if they take the following steps:

The Role of Families in Advance Care Planning (3 minute read)

Medical advances enable people with serious illnesses to live longer. However, they also bring more complexity to managing care as the end-of-life approaches. Treatment decisions regarding end-of-life care can be challenging, especially when the patient is incapable of consenting and their wishes are unknown or unclear. Unsurprisingly, research indicates that patients without documentation of their care preferences may receive unwanted, futile, or costly medical interventions.

In November, we released an Android mobile app update to improve data analytics and the user experience.  We fixed a couple of bugs and continued working on improving the infrastructure and performance of our technology platform.
